Fruehauf, Inc (www.fruehaufinc.com) is the first name in transportation. The company’s founder, August Fruehauf, was a blacksmith in Detroit, Michigan. He invented the first semi-trailer when helping a client move a boat to the lake in 1914. His invention was so popular that the requests came pouring in and he officially formed the Fruehauf Trailer Company in 1918. Since then, the company’s trailers have been used by governments and private entities around the world, remaining a leader in semi-trailer innovation and production.
